The complex nature of the Health Insurance landscape is constantly changing and more than foreign to most people. Entering the Pharma industry is a real eye opener, requiring a lot of research, studying and discussion, to get a grasp of how these large corporations affect the lives and treatment of so many people. It is agreed upon by all in the Pharmaceutical Industry, that it takes between 1 and 2 years for a new representative to fully understand the managed care landscape of their territory! Pharma companies and managers know this to be true, and realize the lengthy time frame required, prevents an individual from reaching their sales potential quickly. It is not easy or fast, to get each representative on track with learning and understanding how this impacts their business and how to sell according to the market dynamics of each specific geography.
In this workshop, we will begin with a discussion of basic Health Care Provider designs. From there, we will discuss how representatives identify the landscapes specific to their geographical territory and work to impact their business in partnership with these obstacles and opportunities. Materials will be provided to take home and further study this landscape. We will also discuss the importance of these issues and knowledge base to the Pharma companies. An even basic understanding of these challenges and opportunities can launch you far ahead of other candidates, whether you are looking for your first Pharma job, or looking to be moved into a promotional role.
